About the Company

A fast-growing CNC machine tool distributorship with exclusive rights to a leading Japanese Swiss-type precision turning platform. The company operates as part of one of the largest machine tool distribution networks in North America and has grown market share by 50%+ in every territory it has entered. California represents their newest and most significant expansion market, with a full operation being built out including sales, applications engineering, service, and technical account management.


The Role

Pure hunter position focused on new business development across Los Angeles County and San Bernardino County. A dedicated Technical Account Manager handles all post-sale account management and existing customer relationships, allowing the Sales Executive to stay focused entirely on identifying and closing new machine sales.


Responsibilities

  • Prospect and develop new manufacturing accounts across LA County and San Bernardino County
  • Manage the full capital equipment sales cycle from prospecting through close including facility visits, technical consultations, machine demonstrations, proposals, and contract negotiation
  • Identify shops running competitive equipment and present a compelling case for conversion
  • Collaborate with applications engineers on technical demonstrations and turnkey proposals
  • Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and CRM activity in Salesforce
  • Work in conjunction with the Technical Account Manager on repeat sales opportunities within the existing install base
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows and customer events

Compensation and Benefits

  • Year 1 guarantee: $150,000
  • At-plan total compensation: $200,000+ uncapped
  • Base salary after guarantee period: $85,000
  • Uncapped commission structure
  • Car allowance: $775/month plus gas card
  • All travel expenses covered on company card

Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years of capital equipment sales experience in CNC machine tools, precision manufacturing equipment, or closely related industrial equipment
  • Swiss CNC or precision turning background strongly preferred
  • Based in the Los Angeles or San Bernardino County area -- must be within reasonable proximity to the core market
  • Proven new business development track record -- this is a hunting role, not account management
  • Familiar with the SoCal precision machining market including aerospace, medical device, and contract manufacturing sectors
  • Salesforce or equivalent CRM experience
  • Self-directed and comfortable managing a large geographic territory from a home office



Territory

Los Angeles County and San Bernardino County, with primary activity concentrated in those two counties. Approximately 400+ identified target accounts in the market.
