ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

A fast-growing CNC automation company specializing in robotic machine tending and automated loading/unloading systems for CNC machining centers. The company's systems enable lights-out and minimally attended production for precision machining operations -- a rapidly expanding market as shops face skilled labor shortages and increasing pressure to run more efficiently. Headquartered in the Indianapolis area with a dedicated applications engineering and service team already in place. This is a confidential search; the company will be disclosed upon mutual interest.


THE ROLE

Individual contributor territory sales role responsible for developing and closing new accounts across the Toledo, Ohio and Michigan markets and surrounding region within a 3-4 hour drive radius. The Area Sales Manager sells robotic CNC automation systems to machine shops, contract manufacturers, and precision machining operations. Commission is paid per unit with no cap. Company truck provided.


RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Prospect and develop new accounts at machine shops, contract manufacturers, job shops, and precision machining operations throughout the territory

•    Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through close including facility visits, application reviews, system demonstrations, proposals, and contract negotiation

•    Conduct ROI conversations with shop owners, operations managers, and engineering leadership around labor savings, throughput improvement, and lights-out production capability

•    Collaborate with applications engineers on technical evaluations and system configuration recommendations

•    Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and activity records in HubSpot CRM

•    Represent the company at regional trade shows and machining industry events

•    Stay current on competitive automation offerings and CNC integration trends


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

•    Base salary: $80,000 -- $100,000

•    Commission: $2,000 per unit sold -- uncapped

•    Company truck provided

IDEAL CANDIDATE

•    Capital equipment sales background in CNC machine tools, CNC automation, robotic systems, or precision manufacturing equipment

•    Familiarity with the machine shop and contract manufacturing market -- understands production challenges, labor constraints, and how shops evaluate capital investment

•    Experience selling automation, cobots, or machine tending systems is a strong plus

•    Hunter mentality -- this is a new business development role in a market with significant unsaturated opportunity

•    Based in the Toledo, Ohio or Michigan area -- must be within a 3-4 hour drive radius of the core territory

•    Comfortable conducting consultative ROI-based selling conversations with shop owners and operations leadership

•    HubSpot or equivalent CRM experience preferred

•    Self-directed and disciplined working remotely from a home office
