ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

A fast-growing CNC automation company specializing in robotic machine tending and automated loading/unloading systems for CNC machining centers. The company's systems enable lights-out and minimally attended production for precision machining operations. THE ROLE

Hands-on technical field role responsible for the installation, commissioning, training, and ongoing support of CNC automation systems at customer facilities. The Field Automation Engineer works directly with customers post-sale to ensure successful integration of robotic automation with existing CNC equipment and production processes. Must be based within 45 minutes of Fishers, IN for regular headquarters coordination.


RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Install, commission, and validate CNC automation and robotic machine tending systems at customer facilities

•    Program and configure automation cells including robot paths, gripper tooling, and machine interface

•    Conduct customer operator and maintenance training on automation systems

•    Troubleshoot automation system issues remotely and on-site

•    Collaborate with applications engineering and sales teams on pre-sale technical evaluations and demos

•    Document installation and commissioning procedures; maintain accurate service records

•    Travel to customer sites within assigned region for installs and service calls


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

•    Base salary- $80,000-$90,000/Year

•    Commission component on units supported

IDEAL CANDIDATE

•    Hands-on experience with CNC machine tool automation -- robotic loading/unloading, cobot integration, or automated machine tending systems

•    CNC machining background (operator, programmer, or applications technician) with understanding of turning and milling processes

•    Experience with robot programming or integration (Fanuc, KUKA, Universal Robots, or similar)

•    Strong technical troubleshooting skills and customer communication ability

•    Must be based within 45 minutes of Fishers, IN -- proximity to headquarters is required

•    Prior experience with collaborative robots (cobots) a strong plus

•    Mechanical aptitude and comfort working in manufacturing shop environments
